On June 6, 2013, the Lao People’s Democratic Republic notified the WTO of its proposed amended Food Law. This law establishes general food safety standards and includes clauses relating to the definitions and use of food additives. If implemented, this version would replace Law on Food No.04/NA of 2004. The final date for comments is June 30, 2013.

Laos’s food additive regulations are not currently included in the International Food Additive Database.
