Taziki’s Mediterranean Café, a fast-casual Greek food-inspired chain, has outlined plans to open at least 20 additional restaurants across the US in 2014.

Under the plan, the food chain will open outlets in Alabama, Arkansas, Colorado, Georgia, Louisiana, North Carolina, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas and Virginia, expanding its footprint to 12 states.

Taziki's Mediterranean Café managing partner and CEO Jim Keet said the company saw enormous growth last year.

"We started franchising, which has provided Taziki's the opportunity to build a larger presence throughout the United States," Keet added.

Recently, Taziki's opened a new outlet in Bentonville, Arkansas in late December. Occupying 3,400ft² of retail space, the outlet features freshly grilled meats, original sauces and healthy side dishes.

It is the largest restaurant the company has opened so far.

Headquartered in Birmingham, Alabama, Taziki's Mediterranean Café currently has 32 locations in nine US states.
