China:Weekly Review of Food Standards and Regulations(1238-1241)

 

　　On March 2nd, 2018, Office of the State Council issued plan of legislation in 2018 including “Rules for implementation of food safety law” drafted by China Food and Drug Administration and deliberated by Standing Committee of the National People's Congress.

 

　　China National Center for Food Safety Risk Assessment solicited opinions on the new food additive Sodium formate

 

　　On March 14th, China National Center for Food Safety Risk Assessment solicited opinions on expanding usable range of sodium formate as a processing aid of fermentation nutrients used in fermentation technology for dairy and soy products, etc. Opinions should be submitted before April 13th, 2018.

 

　　Certification and Accreditation Administration issued plan of legislation in 2018

 

　　On March 13th, 2018, Certification and Accreditation Administration issued plan of legislation in 2018. Thereinto, draft for review of “Provisions for administration of registration of foreign manufacturing enterprises of imported food” was submitted to General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine and relevant departments strived to complete legislation of the regulation in 2018.

 

　　Xinhua News Agency was to issue explanation of plan for institutional reform of the State Council

　　On March 13th, State Councilor Wang Yong explained plan for institutional reform of the State Council on the 1st Session of the 13th National People's Congress. Plans regarding food supervision were as follows: China Food and Market Supervision and Administration would be established, State Administration for Industry & Commerce, General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine and China Food and Drug Administration （AQSIQ） would be canceled, and inspection and quarantine duties and team of AQSIQ were incorporated into General Administration of Customs. The final scheme should be approved by National People's Congress.
