In order to further strengthen the conservation of aquatic biological resources, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs recently organized and formulated the fishing prohibition period system in the Haihe river, Liao river, Songhua river and Qiantang rivers basins, thus realizing the full coverage of the fishing prohibition season system in seven major river basins in China.

This is learned at a press conference held by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs on the 21st. These seven basins include the Yangtze River, the Yellow River, the Pearl River, the Songhua River, the Huaihe River, the Haihe River and the Liaohe River.

The prohibition period system is a protective measure to implement the prohibition of fishing operations during the critical period of concentrated spawning and breeding of fish. From 2002 to 2018, among the seven major river basins in China, the Yangtze River, Pearl River, Huaihe River and Yellow River basins have successively established the fishing prohibition system at the national level.
