According to Brazilian Ministry of Agriculture, Animal Husbandry and Supply website news, on January 15, 2019, the Ministry approved the issuance of Normative Instruction No. 1 of 2019, the issuance of salted fish standards, mainly related to the definition of salted fish, quality indicators, classification, label requirements, sampling and so on.

The standards come into force from the date of publication of the Official Gazette, that is, January 18, 2019.
