However, the company has retained a HFCS-free variant in its range, which will contain table sugar instead of HFCS.

A ConAgra spokeswoman said that overall, consumer demand for the HFCS-free ketchup was not as strong as expected.

"We made a recent ingredient change to Hunt's Ketchup, but will continue offering our 100% natural line that contains table sugar instead of HFCS," the spokeswoman added.

According to the company, the reformulated ketchup will feature a new label, so the consumers would recognize that it is different from the previous versions, reported Foodnavigator-usa.com.

The 100% Natural HFCS-free ketchup was introduced by the company in spring 2010. The product had no high fructose corn syrup, artificial ingredients or preservatives. While other brands introduced HFCS-free variants to address concerns about HCFS use, ConAgra went a step further and eliminated HFCS from all of its Hunt's ketchup products.
