For Isolcell, innovation is more than just the introduction of new products. It is also about improving and further developing already existing solutions. The company, which is based in the South Tyrol region, is specialized in modified and controlled atmosphere for the storage of fruit and vegetables. The new line of ethylene absorber, Deoxyl Gold, is currently Isolcell's top product.

In order to meet the storage requirements of the new yellow and red kiwi varieties, Isolcell has developed an ethylene cleaner that increases performance by 30% and reduces energy consumption by up to 70%.

Ethylene converters are part of the systems of controlled atmosphere used to slow down the post-harvest fruit maturation. "The Deoxyl Gold is equipped with an innovative heat recovery system, which minimizes the difference between the temperature of the air that flows in and out of the purifier, said the sales manager Giorgio Pruneri (in the picture above). The converter eliminates ethylene through a system of recycling compressed air through a catalyst bed, kept at a temperature of about 250 °C".

It is a high-efficiency catalyst specially designed for this use. "The Deoxyl Gold is equipped with a new graphical PLC and can be interfaced with the ISOSOFT management software for real-time parameters control and remote assistance. There are four models of Industria 4.0 ready available: 200, 400, 700 and 1100".

The Deoxyl Gold is also a good solution for apples. Ethylene is a type of hormone that accelerates the ripening of many crops while they are on the tree, but once harvested it accelerates their decomposition.
