Carrier Global Corp boosts attractiveness to clients

Today, more than half of world’s reefer trade is in non-seasonal cargoes – frozen meat, fish and vegetables, plus pharmaceuticals. This means that -in contrast to the past- production of new reefer containers is now more equally spread throughout the year. The maturing demand has required reefer box production companies to mature as well.

Carrier Global Corp, which provides reefer containers and air products under the name Carrier Transicold, has taken the significant step of separating from United Technologies and debuting on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE).

It is quoted Carrier president and chief executive Dave Gitlin as saying: “Against the backdrop of unprecedented global uncertainty, Carrier and its employees remain focused and continue to solve critical challenges – from improving indoor air quality, protecting the world’s food and pharmaceutical supply and keeping people safe and secure. I am honoured to lead this fantastic company and now, more than ever, I am incredibly proud of the perseverance and resiliency of our talented workforce.”

The growing public company has been boosting its attractiveness to clients with a range of new offerings in the container reefer market. Building on the pioneering legacy of the refrigerated container shipping industry’s first controlled-atmosphere system 25 years ago, Carrier Transicold has developed the next-generation EverFRESH system, which makes premium performance more affordable than ever for fleets and container leasing companies.

Using active controlled-atmosphere technology, the EverFRESH system optimises the balance of oxygen and carbon dioxide within a refrigerated container, slowing respiration and the natural ripening of the commodity inside.
