Impact Automation, based in Sydney, Australia have been providing automation solutions to the fresh produce industry of Australia for the last decade. Solutions are in the form of counting, sorting, weighing, filling, bagging, netting, punting and other packing equipment.

The company is now presenting the FastPack 24. Which they say accurately weighs and distributes small produce items, such as blueberries and cherry tomatoes into punnets.

Glen Alcok, from Impact, says, "The design of the weighing machine allows for a balance between speed and accuracy, while never needing to stop."

Features include 24 scale hoppers with 12 drop points; clamshells with the same footprint (125g, 200g and 250g); lane adjustments are hand-crank for fast and easy changeover; quick release funnel cartridge that shuttles to the front of the machine for easy changeover and cleaning.

The specification is as follows:

  • 150g clamshells: 180 cups per minute / 1.8 ton per hour
  • 1kg clamshells: 80 cups per minute / 4.3 ton per hour

The company says that by combining their expanded range of equipment with their high level of planning, material handling, mechanical and electrical skills. they are able to better manage the process of organizing and managing the partial or complete automation of grower's processing and packaging lines, resulting in reduced manual labour, elimination of human error, higher output levels and a more efficient lines.
