The Young's Seafood Foodservice Division, Grimsby, England, has agreed to have UK sales and distribution of its Macrae brand Thailand-sourced surimi handled by the Yearsley Group depot in Heywood, with immediate effect.

The popular Macrae brand, which includes items like seafood sticks and prawn tails, will complement offerings of Yearsley's own specialist seafood division, Ice Pak, in its sales of seafood products to wholesalers, independent retailers and seafood specialists.

Since the acquisition of Ice Pak in 2011, Yearsley's line has been developed to include whole and filleted fish, fresh battered and breaded prawn and squid products, with the recent addition of basa, tilapia and tuna steaks to its Fisherman's Pride brand.

"With our experienced sales team, national network of 13 depots and fleet of 300+ vehicles, we have the infrastructure in place to offer Young's Seafood the full sales and logistics package; reducing any inconveniences on their part and absorbing any complications of distribution that may occur," said Ian King, sales director. "We are excited at the development of this new exclusive partnership and look forward to the future, of this mutually beneficial working relationship."
