Corner Bakery Cafe is expanding in the New York City area with the announcement it has partnered with CBCWSNY, L.L.C. to open 16 new restaurants in six counties in the area. The first restaurant is set to open in 2013, with the remaining sites opening over the next six years.

“Corner Bakery Cafe is a rapidly growing, fast-casual concept that is quickly becoming popular in New York, making it the perfect choice for us,” said Parru Dharia, managing member at CBCWSNY, L.L.C. “The neighborhood concept makes it perfect for the markets we are considering. We have no doubt that it will be an instant hit in each community. The possibilities for success here are endless.”

Corner Bakery Cafe plans to open the new restaurants in the Greater New York City counties of Westchester, Putnam, Orange, Ulster, Suffolk and Dutchess.

“We’re excited to begin the new year with this great news regarding one of our latest area agreements,” said Jonathan Benjamin, vice-president of franchise sales for Corner Bakery Cafe. “With all of the momentum we are experiencing in the Northeast, this is the perfect place to continue our expansion plans as the brand looks to numerous new locations and even more fans in the Greater New York City area.”

Corner Bakery Cafe opened 20 new cafes and signed another 125 cafes in 2012, raising the total to 147 open cafes and 288 cafes under development, as the company moves forward on its goal to double its U.S. footprint by the end of 2015.

Corner Bakery Cafe’s menu includes hot breakfast scramblers, signature paninis and sandwiches, soups, salads, pastas and desserts.
