Popeyes noted that the limited offer serves up eight juicy Butterfly Shrimp marinated in Louisiana seasonings and cooked with a light and crispy salt and cracked peppercorn.
Butterfly Shrimp, along with Cajun fries, biscuit and blackened tartar dipping sauce, is available at a price of $4.99.
Popeyes marketing vice president Hector Munoz said that Cracked Pepper Butterfly Shrimp offers guests a bold new twist on a seafood classic.
"With the use of black pepper, the most flavorful of all the peppercorns, our innovative culinary team has given our much-loved Butterfly Shrimp the kind of bold flavor kick our guests love and expect from our Louisiana kitchen," Munoz added.
Popeyes operates 2,248 restaurants in the US, three territories and 27 foreign countries, as of April 2014.
