As sole agent of famous Spanish orange brand Bollo in China, Shanghai Grandfruit Import & Export Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as 'Grandfruit') hold a press conference for Bollo Brand in Shanghai on March 2nd, 2019. Wholesale traders, retail traders, and online traders from more than 20 countries are invited to attend. A spokesperson from Grand Fruit stated that the main purpose of holding this press conference is promote Bollo oranges in China to give more Chinese consumers a chance to taste the most wonderful fruit from the Mediterranean.

Bollo was established in 1922 and has nearly 100 years of experience in the orange industry. With outstanding production management and strict product quality control, Bollo has be-came one of Spain's high-end orange brands. Bollo oranges are for sale in more than half of European supermarkets. The annual export volume is around 110 thousand tons. The oranges exported to China need to meet strict standards for product quality. This is the reason why Bollo has been in the top of the orange market in China for years.

Bollo exports a variety of oranges to the Chinese market, including Lane Late, Powell, and Midnight oranges. These orange varieties are firm and have an excellent flavor, which makes them extremely suitable for long-distance transport to Chinese market. Late Late is an early-season variety with a brilliant color and a firmness that provides long shelf-life. They are easy to peel and the sugar content is high.

The supply season of Bollo oranges begins every year in February and last until July-August. Bollo provides a stable supply of top-quality oranges in between the supply seasons of domestic oranges. The spokesperson from Grandfruit estimates that this year's demand for Bollo oranges will again exceed supply, as in previous years. Bollo oranges are mainly sold in first- and second-tier wholesale markets in China, as well as high-end fruit stores and e-commerce platforms. In addition, Grandfruit plans to promote Bollo oranges from South Africa and Egypt as well as local production in China, to guarantee a year-round supply of top-quality oranges.
