Tecnova Technology Center, located in the Technology Park of Almería (PITA), has announced that it intends grow heart shaped cucumbers for the Gin brand for Valentine's Day, on February 14th.

Tecnova reported that it is currently holding an agronomic trial for this purpose.

The Technology Center contacted Hendrick's Gin about serving cucumbers at a gin tasting with the Foundation in Expo Agro to "promote the consumption of cucumber and see the virtues of this vegetable.

Last September, the Scottish gin brand asked for Tecnova's services, to see if it was possible to create a heart shaped cucumber, which would be served in slices (on glasses) during St. Valentine's Day.

Tecnova has developed a method for producing this type of cucumbers, using special moulds which allow vegetables to obtain the desired shape and consistency.
