"We are seeing an increasing growth in volume, and are planning to further expand the cooling capacity within the building. There is a need in the market for logistic service providers that are able to manage everything under one roof," says Marco Pfaff. "Our new ripening and drying room for mangoes, avocados and bananas also meet a need."
DL Fresh Logistics is part of the DL Logistics Group, with six branches throughout the Netherlands. The location in Bleiswijk - in the former Roveg building - deals with storage and handling of imported fruit and vegetables, which are stored in the 10,000 m² of cooling and freezing rooms in Bleiswijk. "Our group's strength is that we can manage everything for the client, from the farm / producer / shipping to Rotterdam, and then clearing and trucking to the storage location. Then readying the orders and transporting to the client. We can take care of everything for the client. That goes for both fresh and frozen produce," Marco says. DL Fresh Logistics is both BRC and SKAL certified, which means they can also store organic products.
"Our existence is characterized by unburdening the client. That's why I'm also pleased about our customs warehouse being signed up for the so-called DEN arrangement. This means we can pick up the containers that came in at the terminals, take them immediately to our depot, open the container and start unloading. This way, importers get faster access to their container, because they have already been reported to the system, and are able to follow the process in real time through a web portal," Marco says. "We're seeing a clear development in fruit and vegetables coming in bulk in the future, and repacked in the Netherlands. We are interested in finding the most efficient solution together with our clients."
