On August 1, 2013, Singapore’s Sale of Food Act (Chapter 283) - Food (Amendment) Regulations 2013 entered into force.

This amendment was first proposed by the Agri-Food and Veterinary Authority of Singapore (AVA) earlier this year. On July 8, AVA announced that the amendment would enter into force on August 1. Today, AVA published the final version of the amendment in its Government Gazette and announced that the amendment is now in effect. The document contains various revisions to Singapore’s lists of authorized food additives and maximum use levels of food additives.

This amendment is currently in the process of being analyzed and entered into the International Food Additive Database. Further information on Singapore’s food additive regulations can be found on AVA’s legislation page.
