Poundland, the British variety store chain which sells every item in its stores for £1, has announced that it will expand into Spain this year.

The company announced this week that initially, it plans to open 10 stores in the over the coming two years, which will operate under the Deals banner.

“The retail chain will open three stores in 2014, and will hire 30-50 people each. But their expectations for hiring are over 6,000 workers in the next few years," said Miguel Angel Zuil, a Spanish retail analyst.
