The overall weight of this freight was around 1 ton. This was the first time a sizeable freight of imported fruit was purchased and transported directly from an overseas production area to Shaanxi Province. This marks the beginning and normalization of fruit import through designated ports in Shaanxi.
Most imported fruit currently on the market in Xi'an enters the country in Shanghai or Guangzhou before domestic transport delivers the fruit to Xi'an. The transport time is long and the transport cost is high. This is not beneficial for the quality of fresh produce. It also keeps the price in the final market high.
After the shipment arrived in Xi'an, the Thai mini pineapples were quickly redistributed and brought onto the market through Hema online retail. Consumers in Xi'an are now able to taste fresh Thai mini pineapples that were directly purchased and transported from the production area in Thailand.
