Ketut Gede Anom Sayoga and I Wayan Kantra from the Indonesian island of Bali are pioneers of organic dragon fruit farms. They tried to change the unproductive barren land into an expanse of dragon fruit farms. Kantra was able to produce 50 tons per hectare in an area of 13.5 ha with plants aged around eight years. His land is located in Bulian Village, Kubu Tambahan Subdistrict, Buleleng Regency.

The export potential for dragon fruit to developed countries is wide open. However, there are export barriers, namely the presence of phytosanitary requirements that require imported products to be free from pests.

Faced with these challenges, the two pioneer farmers are now aided by the Provincial Agriculture Office of Bali, the UPTD of the Food Crops and Horticulture Protection Agency (BPTPH) of the Province of Bali and the Agriculture Office of the Buleleng Regency to continue to improve products and quality both on the land and in the storage houses.
