The 2017/18 export season held many surprises. First, it saw the highest figures recorded for sweet cherries, and then blueberries, nectarines and plums. This marked the start of a season that will be remembered because after five quite different seasons, the total exports of Chilean fresh, frozen and dried fruits and vegetables reached 2.935 million tons, beating the previous record of 2.840 million tons in the 2012/2013 season.
Although in the 2017/18 season, exports were still led by apples and table grapes, these are complemented by a larger number of products that only five seasons ago had a minor share in the total exports, like sweet cherries, blueberries, walnuts, plums and nectarines.
