At the end of this month, 250,000 kilograms of fresh Guang'an lemons will be transported by road to Shenzhen, and then exported to Indonesia by sea to achieve their first export. Compared with Anyue Lemons, the Guang'an Lemon is a newcomer on the market and the brand is still largely unknown outside of China.

More than 10 years ago, some villagers in Baima Township spontaneously planted more than 2,000 acres of lemon. “This was the first lemon base in Guang'an District.” You Zhongjie, the head of Guang'an Nongfeng Agricultural Development Co., Ltd., said. "And because the villagers' skills are not in place, the lemon production is not high and the quality is not good."

In 2014, You Zhongjie, a villager from Baima Village invested more than 20 million yuan, and transferred 1020 acres of land in Baima Village and Shihe Village to start planting lemons. “In the beginning, it was managed according to export quality standards.” For example, fertilization with biological bacteria and organic fertilizer, and installed more than 200 solar insect-killing lamps.

Last year, Yu Zhongjie’s lemon base achieved their first harvest one year ahead of schedule, with a production of 250,000 kg. At the end of last year, You Zhongjie signed a contract with a foreign trade company in Chongqing, which will export 250,000 kilograms of lemons to Indonesia this year. "This year it is estimated to produce 500,000 kilograms of lemon."
