The strong growth of the organic market is a reality that has already brought sales worth 33,500 mil…The strong growth of the organic market is a reality that has already brought sales worth 33,500 million Euro per year in Europe (2016 data), with average expenditure per consumer amounting to more than 40 Euro per year and an exponential growth. Since 2000, sales have increased by almost 400% and the acreage has expanded by close to 200%.
Consumers, distributors and countries in general demand more and more organic products. Seeds are an important part of the process and they can also be produced and certified following the ecological protocols.
This has been the bet of Semillas Fitó: to produce seeds of its most outstanding and reputable varieties of aubergine, tomato, cucumber, courgette, melon or sweet corn, certified as organic to be able to offer a 100% organic product, from seed to shelf.
The result is the new Fito Organic range, which aims for more sustainable and environmentally-friendly agriculture. The seeds of Fitó Organic come from vegetables that have been harvested following strict organic protocols. This process adheres to all organic regulations, and the seeds are therefore certified and identified in the envelopes with the Fitó Organic label and the logo of the certifying body.
This new range includes successful varieties which the company has had on the market for years, such as Ateneo tomatoes; Amalia, Crital and Nerea aubergines; Encina, Miter and Tejo cucumbers; Robledo and Soleares melons; Brillante and Tiziano courgettes and SF 1280 sweet corn.
