According to News.am, updating its scientific advice on African Swine Fever, EFSA assesses the risk that the disease is endemic in Georgia, Armenia and Russian Federation has increased from moderate to high, specifically due to the problems that arise during the fight against the outbreak of this disease in the respective local production.

According to researchers, the risk that the virus spreads further into unaffected areas from these countries primarily through contaminated meat remains high.

According to the report, however, the risk of endemic diseases among wild pigs is considered moderate in Georgia, Armenia and Russia, since the African Swine Fever is common primarily among domestic pigs.
