The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has announced that McCain Foods USA, located in Lisle, Illinois, is voluntarily recalling four (4) separate brands of frozen onion rings. The products were accidentally mislabeled with incorrect packaging that did not declare milk as a product ingredient.

People with allergies to milk may experience a severe or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume the onion rings. Packages should be thrown away or returned to their retail place of purchase for a full refund.

The affected products, distributed to retail locations, were manufactured between October 20th, 2015 and September 23, 2016. They are sold under the following brand names:

Save-A-Lot Stores (40oz Bag of Frozen Breaded Diced Onion Rings, Premium Pick 5 Mix and Match Brand)
Krasdale Brand (16oz Bag of Frozen Onion Rings)
Spartan Brand (20oz Bag of Frozen Onion Rings)
Shur Fine Brand (16oz Bag of Frozen Onion Rings)

The production date on these bags is formatted as VYYMMDD (V is the production plant associated with the recall, YY = year, MM = month, and DD = day). Thus, the recalled bags bear codes within the range of October 20, 2015 (V151020) and September 23, 2016 (V16092).
