Mother makes a birthday cake for her son's 8th birthday
“Following my wild laughter at ‘dickbread’ last night, I feel compelled to own up to the cake I made for my son’s 8th birthday,” Walker wrote, attaching a photo of the offending dessert.
The cake is made up of two circles with a cream-colored frosting, placed side by side to form the figure eight. Walker used an orangey-pink shade of frosting for the holes in the numbers, and topped them with starry confetti sprinkles.
At the time, it looked like an “8” to her, but to her husband, the child’s birthday cake looked like it could easily get beads thrown at it during a Mardi Gras parade.
“I used a store-bought frosting for the first layer and only had orange food coloring, so I used that for the circles,” Walker tells TODAY.com, and she then showed it to her husband, right before taking it to her son’s birthday party.
“My husband ambled into the kitchen and said ‘hey, why did you put sprinkles on the boob cake?’” she wrote in a follow-up post. “And I said ‘it’s not a…oh my GOD, I made my child boobs.’”
Commenters dug into Walker’s buxom bake like a pesky underwire bra.
“I want bedazzled areolas now 😩,” wrote one Threads user.
“No you did not! You are now the GLITTER TITS LADY,” wrote another. “You and DICKBREAD LADY are threads legends now.”
“Dickbread and Sparkle Booby Cake,” wrote one more. “I think Threads has reached its peak.”
Walker says she recently showed her son the photo of his cake and asked whether he remembered it as a cake or an early sex ed lesson.
“He stared for a second and said, ‘That’s our cake pan at the old house, but ... is that tits? I, um ... kinda? Was this for my birthday? I didn’t realize it looked like tits then, if it makes you feel better.’”
Her family thinks the virality of her chesty cake makes for an amusing family memory.
“My husband laughed and said, ‘I told you most reasonable people would see boobs if you asked,’” Walker says.
She’s “thinking” of baking something for his 18th birthday this year, but balks at the suggestion of adult-themed “1” and “8” cakes, even though he legally becomes one.
“My son said, ‘I guess you’re not the first person to be internet famous for boobs,” she says, continuing, “But maybe the first for this particular application of boobs.”
