Almost 15,092 pounds of frozen beef, pork, and chicken products have been recalled by Blossom Foods, LLC because they contain wheat and soy ingredients which were not mentioned on their package labeling. The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA)’s Food and Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) has categorized this as a “Class I / High Risk” recall. Blossom Foods, LLC is headquartered in Oakland California.

The meat and poultry products were produced over the course of a year, between August 23, 2016 to August 23, 2017, and are marked with expiration dates set one year after the initial date of packaging. Distributed to institutional locations in California and Ohio, the cases bear the establishment number “EST. 51200” or “P-51200” inside the USDA mark of inspection.

The products included in the recall are: “Barbequed Beef, Corn, Baked Beans” (6.6-lb), “Barbeque Beef” (5.5-lb), “Savory Beef” (10-lb), “Sesame Chicken” (5.5-lb), “Spanish Beef” (10-lb), “Barbeque Pork” (5.5-lb), “Breakfast Sausage” (5.5-lb), “Beef” (10-lb), and “Chicken and Dumplings, Peas, Rutabaga” (6.5-lb). These products should not be consumed by people who are allergic or sensitive to the wheat or soy allergens, since this may cause potentially life-threatening illness. The affected products should be properly disposed of or returned to their place of purchase.
