Russia exported nearly 2.7 million tons of grain in February 2019, according to Igel Pavinsky, head of the analysis center of Rusagrotrans, Russia's largest grain railway operator.

This is much lower than the 4.2 million tons exported in the same period last year, but slightly higher than the 2.5 to 2.6 million tons predicted earlier.

Wheat accounts for the majority of the total, accounting for 2.2 million tons, compared with 3.3 million tons in the same period last year. Barley exports amounted to 180,000 tons, compared with 300,000 tons in the same period last year. Corn exports amounted to 290,000 tons, compared with 600,000 tons in the same period last year.

Rusagrotrans expects grain exports of 43 million tons in 2018/19, including 33.6 million tons of wheat.
