Most large exporters of agricultural products from Vietnam have their eyes set on the Chinese market. However, the Chinese import policy is changing and the requirements for agricultural product quality have become more strict. Even though consumers and importers from China pay close attention to Vietnamese agricultural products, it is still difficult to gain entrance to the Chinese market.

The Vietnamese Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development stated, during a conference on Vietnamese agricultural export to China, that apart from the 8 official export fruits (dragon fruit, watermelon, rambutan, mango, longan, lychee, banana, and jackfruit), there are 7 more fruits with great popularity in the Chinese market (durian, pomelo, passion fruit, sweet potato, coconut, custard apple, and mangosteen). There are currently 13 Vietnamese fruit exporters with permission to enter the Chinese market.
