Avebe has been nominated for the Food ingredients Europe (FiE) Excellence Awards in the ‘Dairy Innovation of the Year’ category for its Etenia QS, which the company describes as a cost-effective solution for cream cheese producers. FiE takes place 19-21 November in Frankfurt.

According to Avebe, Etenia QS an ‘acid-whey’-free process for cream cheese that makes it possible for cream cheese manufacturers to cut their recipe costs by 15-25%, while preserving its excellent mouthfeel and spreadability. Moreover, the process using Etenia QS is said to be more environmentally friendly than existing solutions.

The winners of the FiE Excellence Awards will be announced at the show on Tuesday 19 November.
