DSM has inaugurated its Fortitech Premixes plant in Vadodara, Gujarat. The plant is spread across 5,000 square meters and the company says it will be a one-stop source for food, beverage and pharmaceutical manufacturers looking for fortification as a way to differentiate their products from their competition. The new plant will service the South Asian market with its teams split between Delhi and Mumbai, as well as a business development group, based in Malaysia and an upcoming Nutrition Innovation Center in Singapore. The initial employee headcount for this plant will be 29 full-time positions.

According to the company, DSM has a long history of combating micronutrient deficiencies around the world and has a number of partnerships including with the UN World Food Program, Aisyiyah Project – Indonesia; One Goal Campaign - Asian Football Confederation; Sight and Life; etc.

Fortitech Premixes are customised blends of functional ingredients from a comprehensive selection of vitamins, minerals, amino acids, nucleotides and nutraceuticals. They are used in a wide range of products, including baby formulas, cereals, bars, dairy products, nutrition and sports drinks, juices, snacks, waters, candies and supplements. Additionally, the nutritional ingredients are also tailored to address specific health concerns with research to support their claim.
