Bar-Be-Quick – the oriBar-Be-Quickginal instant barbecue manufacturer – has teamed up with Schwartz, the UK’s herbs and spices brand, to offer four seasonal recipes on promotional packs, available in Asda from Easter.

The Schwartz-branded regular size instant barbecues (£3.99 RRP) feature four different on-pack recipes that make up the Grill Mates range – Tennessee Ribs, Brazilian Churrasco Style BBQ Beef, Grilled Salmon and Grilled Rare Tuna Steak – to enable customers to create easy, varied meals.

This allows them to cook much more than burgers and sausages when they choose to dine al fresco, or away from home.

As well as offering ideas for easy-to-cook, tasty food, they have been devised to help increase impulse purchases for summer 2014.

Caroline Hoare, national account manager at Bar-Be-Quick, said:

“We’re thrilled to be partnering up with Schwartz this year and providing consumers with ways to use the seasonings to complement the traditional barbecued foods that can be cooked on instant barbecues.

“Our branded Hellman’s packs proved hugely successful in 2013 and we’re keen to repeat this in 2014.

“The Schwartz partnership introduces the consumer to different ways of barbecuing, thus broadening the appeal of the product.”

Vicky Cojeen, Schwartz marketing and category management director said:

“We know that consumers are looking for new and innovative flavours to liven up the BBQ occasion and the Grill Mates range delivers this.

“With flavours inspired by typical cocktail flavour combinations and more recently Brazilian cuisine, which we predict will become ever more popular in the UK, the range is driving category innovation.

“This joint promotion will act as an enabler for savvy, time-poor shoppers to create flavoursome meals during the barbecue season.”
