Flora, the spread braGold from Florand from Unilever UK, has announced the launch of a brand new blended spread with butter – Gold from Flora.

Gold from Flora is available now and will be supported by a £10 million marketing campaign.

Gold from Flora is a blend of golden butter and Flora that offers consumers a way to enjoy the taste of butter with the convenience of a spread.

Gold from Flora is 40% lower in saturated fat than block butter.

The supporting marketing campaign will drive topping usages along with spreading occasions.

Patty Essick, brand building director for spreads at Unilever UK, said:

“As the global leader in the Spreads category, we listen carefully to our consumers and understand that they want their meals to taste delicious, as part of a balanced diet and lifestyle.

“That’s why we’ve taken on the challenge to create a new, great-tasting product that helps consumers to lead the balanced lifestyles they want to follow.”

As part of the launch into blended spreads with butter, Unilever has also unveiled Bertolli with Butter.

New Bertolli with Butter is made with Mediterranean olive oil and butter, blended for a buttery taste and contains around 45% less saturated fat than block butter.

Essick continued: “Our role at Unilever is to grow the Spreads category as a whole with products that offer great-tasting alternatives to butter.

“The launches of these two products have already got off to a great start in other European countries so far and we’re confident that we will replicate that success in the UK.”

The two new products give shoppers the taste of butter that they want, with less saturated fat than block butter.

Gold from Flora and Bertolli with Butter are available in 400g (RRP £2.49) and 225g (RRP £1.49) tubs.

The packaging has been designed with a premium feel, reflecting the contents inside which can be seen through the clear tubs.

The Gold lids reflect quality and, coupled with high shopper awareness of both the Flora and Bertolli brands, will create stand out on shelf.
