Biorigin hires new operations manager for Brazil

Aiming at promoting an even higher integration between its business units and keeping its commitment to total traceability throughout the production chain, Biorigin has appointed César Augusto Porto Martins as its new operations manager for the company’s Brazilian unit.

Martins has a master’s degree in Chemical Engineering focusing on the research and development of chemical processes from that Universidade Federal de São Carlos (Brazil) and an International Executive MBA in Business Management from Fundação Getúlio Vargas (Brazil).

He has 17 years of experience in process, production and development of products in large companies in the food (sugar, ethanol and generation and exportation of energy) and packing industries. He began his path at Zilor in 2004 as an industrial processes specialist and in 2007 took charge of the operations management of the UBG plant, specialising in sugar and ethanol.

At Biorigin, Martins will be responsible for managing the company’s pure culture plant, as well as its sugar and ethanol plant, both located at Quatá, Brazil.

“Joining in one single management the entire production process, from raw materials to the final product, takes Biorigin to a distinguished market position,” said Biorigin’s director, Mario Steinmetz. “Through this integration we emphasise even more our commitment with 100% traceability and we keep our transparent relationship and our quality deliveries to our customers.”
