Indonesia's white sugar output will be 2.3 million tonnes this year, an industry body said on Monday, down 200,000 tonnes from an initial forecast due to wet weather conditions. Raw sugar imports will hit 2.9 million tonnes in 2014, said Achmad Widjaja, secretary general of the Indonesian Sugar Association, who was unable to give a 2013 figure.

Indonesia is one of the world's top raw sugar importers and usually buys from Brazil, Thailand and Australia. The Indonesian government had forecast white sugar output at 2.5 million tonnes and set raw sugar imports at 2.8 million tonnes this year.
