Agritech company Z Trim Holdings has announced the commercial launch of a food-grade, soluble dietary fibre ingredient known as Biofiber Gum (BFG).

Z Trim noted that BFG is a quality emulsifier that holds microencapsulation capabilities relative to leading gums and also can supplement the delivery of essential dietary fibre.

In addition, BFG can provide important health benefits when added to foods, said the company.

Z Trim Holdings technology vice president Kyle Hanah said the company has already files several patents to protect the manufacturing process, composition of matter and applications of BFG in conjunction with partners at the USDA.

"We are very pleased to announce to the food, pharmaceuticals and nutraceuticals industries that we have solved the issues that previously limited availability and that this very useful ingredient is now available in commercial quantities," Hanah added.

Z Trim CEO Steve Cohen said, "This announcement is extremely significant to the evolution of our company as an AgriTech pioneer."
