Wholesome Sweeteners, a US-based producer of sugars, syrups, nectar and honey, has announced that it's Organic Blue Agave Syrup is the new sweetener for Hearty Blueberry Oatmeal at Starbucks.

Wholesome Sweeteners Organic Blue Agave packets at Starbucks contain a pour-over liquid sweetener created from the Blue Agave plant grown in Mexico.

The company noted that its Organic Blue Agave Syrup metabolizes slowly in the body without spiking blood sugar due to its low Glycemic Index (GI). In addition, the Organic Blue Agave Syrup at Starbucks is 25% sweeter than sugar so consumers use less sweetener overall.

Wholesome Sweeteners CEO Nigel Willerton said that using Wholesome Sweeteners is a part of Starbucks' initiative to provide healthy, sustainable and convenient food options to its customers.

"Our Agave Syrup is 100% natural, gluten-free, vegan and non-GMO, and by far the best-tasting on the market. It answers the demand from consumers who want the best natural sweeteners without compromising product quality or gourmet taste," Willerton added.

Starbucks Hearty Blueberry Oatmeal with Wholesome Sweeteners Organic Blue Agave is available in approximately 4,500 Starbucks company-operated stores across the US.
