US-based ethanol production business Poet has installed its new corn oil technology into 25 of its 2…US-based ethanol production business Poet has installed its new corn oil technology into 25 of its 27 biorefineries.
The move brings Poet’s total capacity to around 250,000 tonnes a year, enough feedstock to produce 68 million gallons of biodiesel annually.
Facilities in places like Iowa, South Dakota, Minnesota and Ohio have been beneficiaries of the upgrade.
"There’s a bio-based solution to so much of what petroleum supplies today," says Poet CEO Jeff Lautt.
"Having a more diverse portfolio of products has been a benefit, particularly when ethanol margins are challenging."
