Sweet Green Fields, a US-based stevia extracts producer, announced plans to expand its stevia crop in the South-eastern US based on the performance of the crop during the 2012 growing season.

Sweet Green Fields has teamed up with grower partners in Georgia and North Carolina to produce the first commercial stevia crops in Southeast US and is working to boost its supply of American-grown stevia extracts.

With the support of the Georgia Department of Agriculture, the North Carolina Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, the company plans to develop and implement sustainable and socially responsible practices, to leverage technologies and uphold its commitments to ensure responsible and sustainable stevia production.

Sweet Green Fields is known for its science based, research practices, such as the patented, natural Fast Precipitation Process that extracts high quality stevia glycosides in a fraction of the time compared to standard methods. It markets Optesse Stevia HPS and HPX along with Altesse Stevia 99, Sweetesse Stevia 97 and 95, and Greenesse Stevia 80, 60 and 50.
