Evonik’s innovative aroma extracts make use of a process known as Supercritical Fluid Extraction (SFE) which is carried out under gentle conditions. André Aguiar, Evonik Account & Marketing Manager Europe, explains, “this environmentally friendly extraction technique helps to preserve the genuine flavour profile and reduces the loss of valuable flavour compounds from the original raw material”.

In addition to its greener credentials, extracts produced by SFE often have a longer shelf life than other aroma extracts or need less stabilisation due to the gentle treatment. Evonik’s aroma extracts are ideal building blocks for compounded flavours for food in general and beverages, dairy, confectionery and bakery in particular.

David Gray, International Business Director, Azelis Food & Health adds, “ we are excited to be working together with Evonik offering this innovative range of top quality aroma extracts, that meet our customers and today’s consumers needs for unadulterated, clean, healthy and tasty foods. We will provide unrivalled sales support, offering help and advice on applications, legislation, marketing insights as well as a streamlined sampling service”.

André Aguiar, agrees “we believe that with Azelis in the assigned countries, we will have improved market coverage supported by a new sales organisation, offering customers sound commercial solutions combined with a high level of local technical support”.

Azelis offers a full suite of value added services to help customers create inventive application ideas for new products and also to improve the performance of existing ranges. David Gray continues, “we regularly invite customers into our development kitchens that are conveniently located throughout Europe and will be pleased to work with them on projects around these exciting new materials”.

Azelis is now able to offer Evonik’s quality aroma extracts in the UK and Ireland, Italy, Turkey, Finland, Bulgaria, Romania, Ukraine, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Slovenia Belarus, Croatia, Serbia and Russia.

The agreement complements already existing and successful agreements between the two companies across many industry disciplines in Europe and Asia. Both companies work together to deliver inventive solutions for customers and look forward to a continued, successful partnership.
