Tate & Lyle announced its natural, no-calorie sweetener, TASTEVA™ Stevia Sweetener, was named Best Dairy Ingredient in the 2013 Dairy Innovation Awards.

In its award submission, the company demonstrated that in a strawberry yogurt recipe TASTEVA Stevia Sweetener delivered sweetness from a natural source without the bitter aftertaste often associated with other high purity, stevia-based sweeteners, while reducing total sugar levels by 40%. The new sweetener is not only versatile, clean tasting and easy to formulate with, but it has also shown in tests to be preferred by consumers, offering a superior taste profile over Reb A 97 and other stevia products.

"A combination of TASTEVIA Stevia Sweetener, with its unique sensory properties, and our dairy application formulation expertise helps us to create new innovative finished products with our customers to help meet consumer expectations," said Luis Fernandez, vice president of global applications at Tate & Lyle.
