The agency has issued an allergy alert and has warned people with allergies to almond not to consume the product. Consumption of this product may cause a serious or life-threatening reaction in individuals with allergies to almond.

CFIA noted that the product affected by this recall - Lotte brand Choco Pie, is sold in 280g packages bearing UPC 8 801062 168255. All date descriptions are affected by this alert. The product is known to have been distributed in Ontario and may have been distributed in other provinces as well.

There have been no reported illnesses linked to the consumption of this product.

The importers are voluntarily recalling the affected product from the marketplace, while the CFIA is monitoring the effectiveness of the recall.
