US-based Automated Packaging Systems has introduced FAS SPrint Revolution, which is designed for small to medium sized frozen and IQF packaging operations and those who pack speciality and seasonal foods in shorter production runs.

The new product offers an ideal alternative to bagging by hand, the company said.

FAS SPrint Revolution has a capacity to baggage at speeds of up to 22 metres per minute. It features a 1.5m wide loading area where packers are presented with pre-opened indexed bags that, once filled, are heat sealed and separated.

The system offers continuous, intermittent or batch modes, and cycles on pre-set parameters or can be operated manually with a foot switch. It can stand alone or in combination with conveyors and scales to automatically present, weigh, load and sea, the company said.

Its stainless steel construction is corrosion-resistant and robust, and a vertical tilt makes for easy maintenance and wash down, eliminating the need for disassembly during daily cleaning.

System-matched SidePouch bags come with a range of features designed for food applications, in materials which provide superior barrier and tear resistance and which can be pre-printed to boost brand value and improve shelf appeal.

The FAS SPrint Revolution a large, 250mm PanelView Plus HMI, which is designed for ease of operation, serviceability, integration, and overall system reliability.

Programming of all components is done with a simple flash card. In addition, the AutoTouch Control Software displays real time productivity data and provides easy access to job storage, job recall and on-board system diagnostics.
