Emco Packaging has filed a patent for an active oxygen scavenging system for use in the headspace of bottles, sachets and cartons for liquid foods and beverages.The oxygen absorbing inclusion is in the form of a water impermeable, but water vapour and gas permeable, envelope containing water vapour or hydrogen-activated finely particulate compounds.
