The Berrybrothers company from Roggel put its new processing line into operation and has made a major step in efficiency. JFPT BV/foodlife was able to supply the new transport system, along with a fast and adequate lid application system. Berrybrothers is a household name in the market and specialises in the cultivation and marketing of soft fruit. Their range consists of blue and red berries, blackberries and raspberries. Besides these core activities, they have a packing station in Roggel where the products are processed into containers.

Nijs van Zuijlen of Berrybrothers: "We were looking for increased efficiency in our production. At the ISF exhibition in 2012 we came in contact with the foodlife company, an expert in innovative and practical production solutions. During this contact we explained our situation and challenges and an appointment was quickly scheduled. In addition to efficiency improvement, our base principles are product handling and flexibility. Switching from one lid container to another should be accomplished within minutes. However, efficiency must never compromise the quality of the product."

The foodlife solution consists of a completely new stainless steel continuous chain conveyor, where operators are positioned on both sides. The workstations are ergonomically designed so that the operator can weigh the containers and easily slide them between the flights of the conveyor. A foodlife lid applicator is positioned above the conveyor which puts lids on the containers in a continuous motion. Separate cassettes equipped with a quick-change system are provided for all lid sizes, so that a rapid switch of containers is possible within a few minutes.
