Nallari Kiran Kumar Reddy, chief minister, Andhra Pradesh, recently took a decision to make the aggressive promotion of the food processing industry in the state a priority. For this purpose, a State Food Processing Development Council will be established soon, according to an official statement.

"We will also start district food processing missions. These will operate at two levels - the chief minister's and the chief secretary's. Committees are being set up for the same, and these should be in place within a month. There will be regular meetings thereafter," Sabyasachi Ghosh, secretary, food processing, Government of Andhra Pradesh, told FnB News via telephone.
