DuPont Packaging & Industrial Polymers has added a pilot-scale, nine-layer blown film line at its application development laboratory in Wilmington, Delaware, US.

The new addition expands the company's ability to assist packaging clients in creating innovative products to market quickly and cost effectively.

DuPont Packaging & Industrial Polymers innovation and technology vice president Kurt Adams said the ability to work with customers on new ideas and trailing them could help ensure new packaging structures with optimized performance, cost-effectiveness and sustainability.

"This investment supports our global network of development laboratories in China, Brazil, Switzerland, India, Japan and Canada," Adams said.

The new line has been developed to guide customers in creating new multilayer packaging structures quickly and cost effectively using less material in the testing phase.

DuPont Packaging & Industrial Polymers works with its clients on packaging initiatives that help protect the product, environment, improve shelf appeal, convenience and reduce cost in the food and other consumer goods and industrial packaging industries.
