Manufacturer of pharmaceutical and food packaging machinery ORICS has collaborated with Spartech Packaging Technologies, a subsidiary of Spartech, to provide a food packaging technology, 1-Seal.

The new 1-Seal is a re-sealable packaging option which uses a polypropylene label-lid, eliminating the need for the foil or film membranes in the sealing process. It is heat-tolerant, microwavable, freezer-to-microwave ready and recyclable in streams that collect polypropylene, the company said.

Spartech Packaging Technologies Marketing director Jeffrey Best remarked that this automated packaging technology will be an added value to packed food.

"ORICS is an innovator and has been recognized by the Packaging Machinery Manufacturers Institute for their efforts," added Best.

Spartech is a producer of plastic products including polymeric compounds, concentrates, custom extruded sheet and rollstock products and packaging technologies. The company's three business segments have facilities in the US, Mexico, Canada, and France and annually process approximately one billion of plastic resins, specialty plastic alloys, color and specialty compounds.
