Z Trim Holdings, Inc., announced that the FDA has approved the labeling of Z Trim corn fiber products in meat applications.

Specifically, according to the company, FDA has approved the use of Z Trim ingredients in ground, emulsified and processed meats and poultry.

In ground beef formulations, corn fiber binds the juices, fats and seasonings, resulting in improved flavor, texture and yield. The ingredient also prevents oil separation and shrinkage during cooking.
