Ali Group, a provider of commercial and institutional foodservice equipment, has entered into a defi…Ali Group, a provider of commercial and institutional foodservice equipment, has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Scotsman Industries, a commercial ice machine company, for an undisclosed amount.
Scotsman Industries is an affiliate of Warburg Pincus, a US-based equity firm. The company has five manufacturing facilities, with over 800 employees, and 10 major sales offices across 100 countries.
Ali Group chairman and chief executive officer Luciano Berti said that this acquisition strengthens its position as a leader in the global commercial foodservice equipment industry.
"The addition of very strong and well recognized brands to those of the Group increases ALI's global presence and visibility," Berti added.
Ali Group, based in Milan, Italy, is a designer, manufacturer, marketer and servicer of a broad range of commercial and institutional foodservice equipment. It has 48 manufacturing facilities in 14 countries and sales and service subsidiaries in Europe, North America, Russia, Japan, China, the Middle East, Australia and New Zealand.
