Egypt: Ismailia’s agricultural exports so far this year

Engineer Yousry Ahmed Abdel-Hamid, Under-secretary of the Ministry of Agriculture in Ismailia, stated that the total export value of Ismailia's agricultural exports, including fruit and vegetables, field crops and medicinal and aromatic plants, which have reached the global and European markets between January and August 2015 has amounted to about 5,214 million dollars, paid for a total volume of 2,711,572 tonnes, of which 1,257,913 tonnes corresponds to fresh and frozen fruit, 7,378 tonnes to fresh and frozen vegetables, 1,445,971 tonnes to field crops and 308 tonnes to medicinal and aromatic plants.

Abdel-Hamid said that these quantities were exported to Arab and foreign countries and the countries of the European Union and added that there has been a marked increase in the volume of exports this year compared to that of the same period in 2014.
